BT Conferencing

E-Learning

Designing training programmes

  • Don’t be over-whelmed by a training programme that is for a lot of staff – one or two online conference training sessions may deliver the programme in a matter of hours
  • No one likes a long, drawn out training session. Online webinars allow you to keep your sessions to a minimum length and make them more enjoyable for staff
  • Include a variety of training materials and use them in an online conference to make the session more interactive – such as presentation slides, opinion polls, intranet sites, PDF files and more

Skills assessment

  • As training managers we need to ensure our staff are up-skilling at all times. Hold regular audio conferences with your employees and keep on top of their skills development
  • Conduct regular gap analysis reviews with managers within the business, to identify where they feel the gaps are – use audio conferences to make it a quick and easy process

Feedback monitoring and reporting

  • Gain immediate feedback during an online training session using the opinion poll facility and even share the results with the participants on the call
  • Get attendance lists, numbers and contact details from training event calls so you can update records and ensure everyone is trained that should be
  • Meet the company training policy/legislation requirements, eg health and safety, data protection
  • Use the record and replay service to play sessions back for analysis afterwards, as a way of developing and improving the training sessions and the trainer him/herself

Material development

  • Bring trainers from different companies and locations together on one online conference call and review or develop materials in real time – use video conferencing for experts to attend
  • Gain feedback from participants on the training call, about the materials used, via the online polling facility
  • If your training help and advice is online, demonstrate the internet site live via a webinar session and take the participants through it in real time
  • Use the record and replay facility for the session to be available again, especially with video conferencing where trainees can review the activity

Managing third party agencies

  • Keep up regular contact with third party training agencies via conference calls in between quarterly physical meetings
  • Conduct weekly or monthly training updates over web conference and have the ability to share any materials that need to be reviewed
  • Negotiate contracts and pay terms online and get everyone together at once to agree the principals
  • Reduce agency travel and expense costs due to less need to travel to physical training sessions

Budget management

  • Save money on face-to-face training sessions by replacing them with online webinars – freeing up more money for staff to undertake more training
  • Help reduce travel and subsidence costs throughout the business by reducing the need for employees to travel
  • Make the budget go further to develop new and improved courses to fill gaps that could make the business more competitive

Team meetings

  • Getting a busy and diverse training team together for team meetings is an arduous task, due to a lack of time and heavy workload. Use conferencing to replace the face-to-face meetings and save money against each monthly meeting or retain the benefits of a face-to-face meeting by holding a video conference instead
  • Encourage your team to share best practice approaches, training tips, hints and tips on programmes and gain feedback on new courses using conferencing
  • Hold weekly one-to-one meetings with your team to keep them up to date with the training programmes that are current and planned
  • Use surveys/polls to assess understanding/skills levels or opinions
